Professor Jason Spallek

I began my grappling career as a high school wrestler where I placed 2x in the state tournament. I later found Jiu-Jitsu in 2002 and was immediately hooked.

I began training with TEAM ROC while at NC State while getting my Bachelors in Computer Science. I began and still compete in tournaments to this day.

I began teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu towards the end of my Blue Belt. I have been teaching ever since then. I have trained all over the world with many world class instructors and pride myself in staying true to the fundamentals of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

After moving to Colorado, I joined the Katharo Training Center team! With the help of Professor Steve Hordinski, I took my game to an entirely new level. I received my Brown Belt directly from Master Relson Gracie in January 2009 and then my Black Belt in March of 2012.

On April 18th, 2015, I was honored to receive my first stripe on my Black Belt under 7th Degree Rickson Gracie Black Belt, Master Carlos “Caique” Elias.

I look forward to teaching you! I cannot wait to have you on the mat with me!
