Professor Steve Hordinski Jr

Hello! I started my Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2001. It all started because I heard my son, Steven, talk about Jiu-Jitsu with so much passion and joy.

Steven started Jiu-Jitsu while he was in the Navy. When he came home on leave, he mentioned opening an academy once he came back home for good. So, I thought I needed to have some knowledge of the sport.

I started training at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of Boulder, which is now Easton’s. I trained there for about nine years, until we opened this academy.

Jiu-Jitsu is its own lifestyle. I really like everything about Jiu-Jitsu, especially the people I meet through the sport.

I was born and raised in Denver. I was inducted into the Army on June 14, 1971, and served for two years. I was part of the Military Police with the 18th Airborne Corps. After that, I worked for the government for 30 years and was an engineering tech with the Bureau of Reclamation.

I’ve raised three boys and now I have eight grandkids. My family is my priority. Being a grandpa is what I spend most of my time doing. I also enjoy spending time paddle boarding.

I am 72 years old and my goal is to still be training in my 80’s. I received my black belt in December of 2013. My goal for this academy is to make the students feel like family.
